Exhibition Launch: Thursday 7 August, 5.30pm
This exhibition marks the 21st anniversary of Hunter Island Press, presenting never-before-seen work by past and present members. It highlights the rich diversity of printmaking in Tasmania and celebrates the organisation’s ongoing role in preserving and promoting professional printmaking skills.
For this anniversary show, members responded to the theme Hunter Island – a tribute to the organisation’s origins at the University of Tasmania’s School of Art, located on reclaimed land that was once known as Hunter Island.
Hunter Island Press is a not-for-profit, artist-run printmaking organisation with an open-access studio on the eastern shore of the Derwent River. Originally formed to support art school graduates, it has grown into a key hub for Tasmania’s printmaking community.
Entry to the galleries is free.
