In 2017 some HIP artists visited Spring Bay Mill in Triabunna. The former wood chip mill is under development and HIP was able to visit the site in its raw state. It was a fantastic opportunity to gather information and to respond to this significant place where a 300 year old tree could be reduced to a pile of wood chips in just six seconds!

Last November a group of HIP members took part in a weekend Residency on Maria Island. The artists spent time gathering material to develop a set of prints in response to their experience of Maria Island. This work will be exhibited on the island in Nov/Dec 2018.

We are planning on outing for HIP members to the Henry Jones Art Hotel to view their collection and have an art tour.

Members of HIP were invited to visit the amazing post-industrial site that is the Spring Bay Mill at Triabunna. This site is in transition and being able to explore it has been an unique, rich and stimulating opportunity.
There have been a few visits where artists have been able to work on site and gather material to make images.

Maria Island Artists in Residency November 2017
A number of HIP printmakers headed off to Maria on a fully catered for weekend to discover and be inspired by the rich natural and cultural life on the island.
They plan to exhibit the work from the Residency in summer 2018/9. Working title ‘watch this space’.
