HIP is launching an evening workshop/forum series 'Spring Skill Share' in November 2018.
The first event will be an Open Studio evening hosted by Rebekah Francis and provides an opportunity for all HIP members to share new skills, ideas or progress on existing works. It will be held on Thursday 8 November 2018 6pm - 8pm at the HIP studio.
We had a productive meeting of the Spring Bay Mill group on Saturday 22nd September. All members present spoke about progressing their work for this exciting exhibition. We are still on track to having a 'Work in Progress' show in December or early in the new year with the final exhibition later in 2019 at the mill site. The next meeting will be on Saturday 17th. In 2017 some HIP artists visited Spring Bay Mill in Triabunna. The former wood chip mill is under development and HIP was able to visit the site in its raw state. It was a fantastic opportunity to gather information and to respond to this significant place where a 300 year old tree could be reduced to a pile of wood chips in just six seconds!

Last November a group of HIP members took part in a weekend Residency on Maria Island. The artists spent time gathering material to develop a set of prints in response to their experience of Maria Island. This work will be exhibited on the island in Nov/Dec 2018.
